still pending but in the meantime, here's some basic information:
Burning
Harpsichord Media is a small independent label that I
created to release various archival as well as upcoming
projects. The first of which is for the upcoming event,
shifting currents at Le
Weekend Festival in Stirling on May 30th, 2009.

The
project involves using special microphones to collect
recordings of electro-magnetic fields from Stirling, Aberdeen,
and Huddersfield that I used to create a multiple speaker
installation of delicate, and also harsh, electronic sounds.
This constantly evolving installation forms a shifting
sonic web from within which Keith
Rowe, Rick
Reed, and myself will
improvise using live electronics, found objects, and field
recordings. Not
only will the sounds gathered from each location be combined
in infinite combinations, but they will also be combined
with the improvised reactions and interactions of the
musicians, each themselves using devices that often behave
in unique and unpredictable ways. For more info go here.

The
release shifting currents:installation is a
recording of the full installation running as is, without
the improvising musicians. This version of the installation
was set to run with less silence, but otherwise is unaltered
in anyway.
If
you are interested in purchasing a copy, they are £8
plus £1 shipping within the UK (shipping for outside
the UK based upon location). A sample of the work is available
here: shiftingcurrentssample[SOON].
Other
releases are planned for the label, in CDR, net, as well
as other unconventional medias. Send me an email if you
want more information at billthompson (at) billthompson.org.
